Next Friday night Brian and I will be involved in Avery's Journey, a fundraising event to support cancer research, specifically Retinoblastoma. Avery is a beautiful young woman, a survivor, and she continues to live with the adverse effects of Rb after being diagnosed when she was just an infant. We have had the pleasure of knowing Avery since she was just 4 years old and have watched her over the years in true wonder - what a girl! If you can make it to the fundraising event please join us; there will be music and dancing, raffle prizes and firefighters... did I mention firefighters? lol
We had an amazing wedding day with Chris and Stephanie yesterday. These two are so fun, creative and energetic. We fell in love with them last October when we shot their engagement photos and have been waiting for their wedding day ever since. We also had the opportunity to show our first SDE of 2009 - the excitement at the reception can not be compared - people absolutely LOVE the same-day-edit! Special thanks to our team - Peter, Karen and Troy who brought their game and definitely played hard all day capturing every moment and detail. We've posted some of their beautiful images below the video, check them out!
Congratulations Chris and Stephanie, may you enjoy your honeymoon, relaxing and reflecting on your perfect wedding day and of course your married life ahead! Lots of love! xo
Brian and I drove home from the workshop in Michigan today with lots to talk about. We met many new friends, some are cinematographers we've known from our online WedFACT community and forums, and meeting them in person was really great. Patrick, Michael and Konrad delivered a full day of awesome information drawing from their own experiences and expertise. The 2 biggest 'messages' to me were about the importance of connecting with couples and always shooting with purpose. This was StillMotion's first presentation on the AofWC and I think it's a truly valuable workshop for those in the wedding cinema industry. We thank them for opening their hearts and minds, for sharing with all of us and igniting in all of us, that passion which drives us to create amazing, emotional films for our couples.
Here are a few quick snaps from my little point and shoot... good times, good friends, good memories of Michigan! Special thanks to Ryan Koral from Epic Motion for organizing this fantastic event!
