Sofia + Luis Truly Smashing.... OPA !!

Sofia and Luis were married in a traditional Greek ceremony although Luis is actually from Peru, not Greece. The forecast called for rain and that it did. It poured in fact. The weather did not dampen the spirits of these two, so much in love, so happy to finally be married. Brian, along with the very talented Matthew Craggs shot and edited this highlight reel. The reception was amazing. Sofia secretly purchased lots of plates to smash and didn't tell anyone except her mom. The guests loved the surprise and taking part in this Greek tradition. Special thanks to Angelo from Extreem DJ Entertainment.
Sofia and Luis we hope you enjoy your romantic honeymoon and these highlights from your very special wedding day !

Fatima + Admir / Great Expectations

Last August we had the honour of capturing Fatima and Admir's wedding celebration. A year later I was just as excited to capture their Keepsake Moments Maternity session. I love blossoming bellies as there is just something so incredibly beautiful about them! We went back to Battlefield park to take a photo in front of the historic monument and plan on continuing this tradition on a yearly basis. They proudly hang their wedding photo in their home standing in the same spot and next year they will have their almost one year old with them. Fatima and Admir have become like family to us, being with them is comfortable and enjoyable. I can't wait to meet their new little one in a couple of weeks! Here are a few of my favourites from our beautiful belly session.

Jami + Lucas / Just Married ! SDE

Jami and Lucas' wedding day story was full of so many mini stories... here are just a few
1. Jami secretly changed her name and started publishing under her married name over a year ago - she framed one of her articles and gave that to Lucas as his wedding gift. Lucas' reaction when he realized this brought him to tears (I cried too) it meant so much to him.
2. A couple of months ago when we got together to film a segment for their LSV Lucas mentioned that one of his favourite bands, Kings of Leon, was playing at Copps Colliseum, just a 15 minute drive from the reception venue, on their wedding night. He asked me if I thought anyone would notice if he skipped out for just a couple of hours. This set the wheels in motion to create an SDE based on one of the band's songs - bringing the concert to him so to speak. We were able to get the wedding bands from them a couple of days before in order to do something a little different - Lucas said "man, that's sick" when we told him our idea : )
3. Their wedding favours were Lance Armstrong LIVE STRONG bracelets (helping to fight cancer) and a special sign was posted on each table mentioning all the family members who they had lost and were remembering on their special day.

We had a wonderful time capturing their big day. The cathedral was spectacular. The weather was gorgeous. The details were perfect. We had a great time shooting along side Christina and Marko from 5ive 5ifteen and we want to thank Robbie at Liuna Gardens for taking care of all our needs at the reception. Enjoy your honeymoon guys!

Tabla Soul / Indian Classical Tabla Solos

When I was asked a few weeks ago by Ravi Singh if Brian and I would be interested in filming a Tabla concert I had to be honest and admit I really didn't know what that was. Ravi and his beautiful fiance Angela are one of our couples getting married in 2010 and during our consultation appointment he was kind enough to share with me what Classical Tabla music is. He, himself, is a performer and has played with various other musicians from West-African, South-Indian and Afro-Cuban multi-percussion artists/bands. Once he explained that he had organized this very special evening of music which would also include 3 other world-reknowned Tabla musicians I knew this was something we definitely wanted to be a part of. We have put together this short promotional piece from the concert. The full concert on DVD (which includes performances by Ravi Singh, Vineet Vyas, Kiran Morarji and George Koller) will be available through Ravi Singh by late September. Please contact him directly at RaviSinghTabla.com if you are interested in purchasing a copy.
I took the liberty of shooting a few photos during the soundcheck - somehow I can't seem to help myself when I've got the 5D in hand. Special thanks to Ravi and Angela for being such gracious hosts that evening. We can not wait for your July 2010 wedding! Think 'Elephant'! lol

Dogs are FAMILY ! ~ a keepsake moment portrait session

I had the pleasure of shooting a family portrait session last night in Waterford. It's safe to say it totally went to the dogs! The session included:
3 sisters, 1 brother, their parents, grandma, aunts and uncles, cousins, kids and of course 3 beautiful dogs. The dogs were very entertaining and even posed on command. Notice Tyson winking for the camera? Lily and Jersey got equal camera time as we didn't want any of them getting jealous. It was a fun evening and definitely another keepsake moment.
