Just a quick recap of the night! Cali, was a Groovy Girl, finally giving up her 3 year run as a princess; Rylie was still not feeling great after being sick all week, but didn't want to miss out on Trick or Treating so she just did a short stint around the block as a gothic something-or-rather and Taylor went as Bat Girl. Brian is loving the new 7D in low light! Hope you all had a fun, safe and happy Halloween!!!
A couple of weeks after Aly and Jay's August wedding we got together to have a little fun during their trash the dress shoot. The weather was gorgeous and we had a great time in the open fields in north Oakville and Mississauga. We ended up back at their place and that's when things between the two of them started to get a little steamy. This TTD is done in a completely different style from our previous ones - we like to continually evolve and change things up. Our next TTD will be shot in the Mayan - stay tuned! Here are a few of my favourite images along with the short film of Aly and Jay's TTD session. Enjoy!
Yay!!!! The big day finally came and it was everything we hoped for. You'd almost think it was us getting married, but no, it was our friends Lindsey and Jeff. We followed these two for the past 12 months, not literally, but we did hang out once every season to build the pieces of their very special Love Story that was shown last night to all their family and friends. It was a tear jerker and was also very funny. We wanted to continue the humour from their Save the Date DVD invitation that everyone was still talking about and yet honour Jeff's grandpa who just passed away a few weeks ago. Brian and I were fortunate to meet and interview Grandpa in February and that piece in the film was extra special no doubt. As I was saying, their wedding day was amazing. The ceremony was set for 11 am so we were at the salon a few minutes after 7 and so the day began. We were greeted by Lindsey's dad a short time later still wearing his bath robe and you could see the pure joy in his eyes as he talked about his little girl getting married. He had set the CD player to play an old favourite tune when he saw Linds for the first time - hence the sequence of photos below. There were so many highlights of the day - but check out the photos below and their SDE and you'll see why we can't stop talking about it. We want to thank Peter Rainford for coming out to shoot with us, we had a blast as always. We also want to thank a few other important people: to both Lindsey and Jeff's parents for all their love and friendship - it has been such a pleasure to meet and work with such warm, caring, loving people - we feel like a part of the Biletchi and Panetta families. Linds, your speech was adorable - it ended with "...and thank you for marrying ME!!!" - Jeff, for a guy who isn't crazy about his picture being taken we did great throughout the photo shoot - Jessica, your adorable singing tribute to your sister was completely amazing and to all the wedding party who entertained us all day with dancing and leap frogging... it was a pleasure to spend the entire 16 hours with you. Linds and Jeff we love you and wish you so much love and happiness... enough to last a lifetime! xoxo
Last Sunday we spent a few hours hanging out with the Walsh Family at Carluke Orchards in Ancaster. We picked some apples went on a wagon ride around the orchard and then headed out on a beautiful hike through Canterbury Hills. The weather was amazing, the perfect fall day! The girls had a blast making piles of leaves and then kicking them all around. The unique thing about Tracy and Adam's relationship is that several years ago it was actually me who introduced the two of them. Tracy and I use to spend a lot of Saturday evenings at a little place called NN where Adam worked as a bartender and voila... here we are several years later and they are married and enjoying raising their two adorable daughters together.
Enjoy their Keepsake Moments Session... we sure did!
Engagement sessions are such a great way for us to get to know our couples and I was really looking forward to spending some time with Stefanie and Jeff. We didn't really have a specific location in mind for the shoot and most times this seems to work in our favour because we just go with the flow. We started in the ravine area of downtown Oakville; with the leaves in full colour it was beautiful and the weather was perfect. After spending an hour or so exploring the fields and underpasses we headed to Garilock Gardens by the Lake and found more great locations to shoot. We also came across a huge Willow tree with several pair of headphones attached to it and a few beanbag chairs underneath. Curious to know what it was all about Stef put on the headphones to see if she could hear anything. The brochures nearby invited us to "listen to the tree" but all she could hear was our laughter... Jeff donned a matching pair and we all just ended up giggling. Here are a few photos from our session - the first one is my very favourite ["will you marry me?"]
Stefanie and Jeff, thanks for a great afternoon; you two constantly make each other laugh and the love between you is awesome to capture - we are super excited for your February wedding!
As the leaves are turning and the time of Thanksgiving has just passed we'd like to take a moment to thank so many important people in our lives. To our family and friends who are always there to support and love us... thank you. To all the couples who we have had the pleasure of meeting and working with this past year and to those booked for 2010 - thank you for choosing us. Today we received a very special thank you via email from Michael, one of our grooms (seen in engagement photos above) who is getting married in just 11 weeks, and we wanted to post it because it means so much to us. We absolutely love capturing life's most precious and amazing moments and stopping time if only for an instant... allowing those moments to be cherished for a lifetime. We do what we do because honestly it makes us feel amazing - perhaps that's a bit selfish, but when we realize how good it makes others feel, well that's a feeling beyond amazing.
Wendy + Michael - Jan. 7, 2010, Mayan Riviera... can't wait! ............. I haven't been blessed with my wedding day yet. That is happening around the corner. However, I have been blessed to have been introduced to these two truly talented and amazing individuals.
My fiancee nearly had to drag me to meet with them for our first consultation. And thankfully she did. We fell in love with their work instantly. I was sold within minutes. And that's saying a lot.
Since that time we've had the absolute pleasure of having them handle our engagement pictures and video. To use an over-used cliche, it exceeded our expectations. But truthfully, it did so much more than that. It made us realize that we were in very capable hands for our big day. We were being guided by good people with great talents. And we're so thankful for that.
Now if this was merely my testament to someone who's very good at what they do, well, it wouldn't break them apart from everybody else out there. And that's just where this story begins.
In my opinion, the true dividing point between two sets of people lies in the ability to not only be gifted at what you do but to be great at being you. Sincere, honest, generous and real. And these two people are exactly that.
Brian and Wanda make a great team. They share a passion for capturing memorable moments and they share an understanding that these moments define us. And luckily for us, we'll have these memories recorded for the rest of our lives.
They go above and beyond what is expected of a team like this. They become a fabric of your life. And they exceed even your wildest expectations. Why? Because they want to and they can.
I'm still waiting for that big day and I know that we'll have it captured in a way that we'll want to watch it over and over again.
Thanks for being a part of this process and journey. Thank you for you.
ML

Also, in the spirit of Thanksgiving and Fall - here is a Keepsake Moments Shortfilm that we captured on Thanksgiving Day when we had the chance to hang out with my brother, sister in law and adorable nephew Ethan, who we affectionately call E-Man! xo
Lily and James are busy planning their 2010 wedding - they are also busy raising their 3 children and working full time! It was great for them to have a couple of hours alone - together!!! We had a great time strolling through a local conservation area and then when I asked them what they really love to do they said they often hit the basketball court with the kids and shoot hoops. I figured since Lily was playing in heels she'd have a disadvantage but she held her own... she also held onto James at times as a successful way of distracting him and getting the ball. Our final stop was at the Drive In Theatre - with police cars on site we wondered if we'd be able to get inside for some photos but it turns out they really didn't care that we were there. Thank you Lily and James for a great afternoon - we wish you a wonderful wedding day! Here are a few of my favourites from our session.
Yesterday we started our day at 7 am capturing the sunrise over Lake Ontario and then drove over 200 kms to capture all the events of Warren and Mindy's wedding day. It made for a long day, but was so worth it! We captured her bridesmaids getting their hair done at two separate salons and all their make up was done by Jo-Anne at the beautiful home of Mindy's parents. Then it was off to Warren's family home where we met with their out of town guests and had fun capturing all the guys getting ready. Both the traditional Chinese tea ceremony and their other wedding ceremony were held at the Shangri-La in Scarborough, and were beautiful. Mindy had two wedding dresses and two pair of shoes, one for each, and they were both stunning. The highlights of the wedding included the moment Mindy and Warren saw each other for the first time (Warren's reaction was so cute) and their completely awesome break out dance - they went into a whole series of different dances from the generations and totally entertained their guests. We worked alongside Elliott from EJ Entertainment Ltd. Perhaps the biggest highlight, at least according to Mindy and Warren, was their SDE. Matt and Brian cut together this piece and as our couple and their guests watched it we were filled with such an amazing feeling. Nothing beats the feeling we get from watching guests watch the wedding highlights from a wedding that they are in fact STILL ATTENDING. What an amazing wedding day - we wish Mindy and Warren a lifetime of love and happiness.
