Julie + TJ ~ NDE *Next Day Edit

Julie and TJ were married at St. Kevin's in Welland followed by a beautiful reception at Twenty Valley Golf Club in Vineland. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and we went to a nearby historical site of the oldest living Sugar Maple Tree in Canada for their photo session. The entire wedding party, parents included, were so relaxed and really just enjoyed the very informal shoot. When we asked Julie if she'd mind walking through the dusty fields for some super cool shots she never even hesitated. At the reception we were witness to some of the most entertaining dancing we've seen yet. It was great working alongside photographer Jen Arron from Toronto.
We want to extend a special thank you to Joe and Kyle Adam, filmmakers from Toronto, for recommending us to their little sister. It was a pleasure to finally meet you both. We were truly honoured to be chosen to capture every moment of Julie and TJ's big day. Have a great time on your honeymoon! Here is their NDE - enjoy!

2 Girls, 2 Grads in 2 Days!

It's been a very busy week for us on a personal note. We had Cali, our youngest, graduate from SK on Tuesday. She starts Grade One in September - it's so hard to believe she'll be heading off to school EVERY day! On Wednesday, it was Taylor's turn. She will be starting High School in September. We are so proud of both of them for doing so great! They are growing up into strong, smart, independent young women. I've put together a collage of photos from the 2 days. Rylie, our middle one, also brought home a fantastic report card and is beginning grade 7 in the fall. We are so blessed to have 3 girls, all so different from each other, with their own talents, interests and personalities - they make us proud in so many ways. We love each of you so very much! xo

Taylor ~ Pre-Grad Photos

Our baby girl graduates tomorrow!!!  Okay, so she's not THE baby of the family, in fact she is our oldest, but she was my first baby and I can not believe that she's finishing elementary school and entering highschool in two months... where did the years go?  Tonight she went to her friend Chris' graduation, he attends a different school and she was so excited to be there to watch him and his friends graduate.  She actually went from Kindergarten through Grade 2 with many of these kids so it was nice that she got to see them reach this milestone too.  Next year they'll all be at the same highschool and she's ecstatic about that.  Tomorrow it's her turn to cross the stage and receive her diploma.  So here are a few pre-grad shots from today - tomorrow I'll have her actual graduation day photos.  Hard to believe she's 14 already!  Love you honey! xo

Jami Loves Lucas ~ Lucas Loves Jami

Yesterday we spent a couple of hours with Lucas and Jami as we begin to put together the pieces of a very special project related to their upcoming wedding on September 19th. Matt and Jenn ~ Just Married !

Yes, it's official, Matthew Craggs is a married man! Sorry ladies, he's off the market and we have all the proof. Brian and I were honoured to film his wedding yesterday as he married his best friend Jenn. At first it was a little strange meeting Jenn for the first time about 30 minutes before she slipped into her beautiful wedding gown, but within a few minutes it felt just like we'd known her for years. Her family and friends were so warm and inviting, not to mention very funny!  If you follow our blog you know that Matt comes out to shoot with us whenever he's available and we have a lot of respect for his talent as a fellow filmmaker. It was a pleasure to work alongside Steve from The Photo Studio and Steve and Bill from Sensational Entertainment.  

We wish Matty and Jenn a lifetime of happiness together and a wonderful honeymoon in DR.

Keepsake Moments ~ Short Films

Last week I had the opportunity to begin my little series of Keepsake Moments Photo + Cinema Sessions. Basically, it's a portrait session with a film component. I thought my session with Sophia and Charlotte would be perfect for this; babies are adorable when there is just one, but imagine the joy of having two! I love the natural sounds that babies make, as a mother I know that each age and stage of development brings with it different facial expressions, sounds and movements. These girls were just 14 weeks old when I spent a couple of hours photographing and filming them. I admit from a film perspective the piece isn't technically strong, but my intention was to capture the events of the session as naturally as possible so that in months and years from now their parents will remember this "keepsake moment" in their daughters' lives. There are just so many amazing things you can't capture with still photos alone and we think these sessions will be a great way to really preserve precious memories.
We are offering our Keepsake Moments for all our portrait sessions: birthdays, anniversaries, maternity, family sessions and any other special moment you'd like to hold on to.
PS This was the first cinema project I shot and edited entirely by myself as Brian continues to work on our wedding edits

Horsin' Around on the Farm

Nicole is turning 13 in a couple of weeks and her mom booked a photo session of her and her horse Roxie as a birthday gift. Roxie is quite funny - her spirit and spunk were evident as she got a little saucy on more than one occasion. Nicole is so great with her. You can see how proud she is of how far Roxie has come in just the few short months since she adopted her. I'm sure it won't be long before they're winning ribbons in the pony club shows all summer long. Super Cute Times Two !

Meet Sophia and Charlotte (affectionately called Sophie and Charlie - cute eh?). These beautiful little girls are 14 weeks old and already have such great, and distinctly different, personalities. I had a lot of fun photographing them and I even shot some great HD footage (stay tuned for that - it's coming soon) as part of our Fusion series of Portrait (Photo + Cinema) Sessions. Don't ya just wanna eat them up?

Wendy + Michael ~ e-Fusion / Toronto

E-Fusioning is our newest passion! Brian and I shot film and photos simultaneously of Wendy and Michael's engagement session in Toronto and we all had a great time.  The hours passed so quickly and Wendy and Michael were both so comfortable in front of the lens; this piece reflects their love for one another.  It's a bit edgy and definitely sexy.  We look so forward to being there to capture their wedding day next January in Mexico.   Thanks for being so fun - enjoy !
